  Paralympic Rower

This three-time world champion and nine-time national champion is studying to be a nurse while holding down a demanding job... and she's off to Rio in 2016.

Kathryn took up rowing in 2006, winning the female single category at the national championships the followng year. She went on to win two silver medals (with partner John MacLean) at the 2007 World Rowing Championships and the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.  A slew of medals followed at various international races and it was clear Kat had found her sport.

Although they did not medal at the 2012 London Paralympic Games, Kat and her new partner Gavin Bellis would go on to win three consecutive world titles, the third in France in September. They have not lost a major race in three years and look set for gold in Rio.

In 2013 the pair were the World Rowing Para-crew of the Year, an honour which they are again nominated for in 2015. Kat was also Rowing Australia's Female Rower of the Year in 2014.
